About TTM Technologies
TTM Technologies makes the high-tech circuit boards and electronic parts that go inside AI data center servers, military radars, and missile guidance systems. Think of them as the company that builds the nervous system connecting all the smart parts together. Data centers and defense now make up more than three quarters of their sales.
The case for and against
Both sides of the story, in plain English.
- Billion Dollar Breakthrough
TTM just crossed one billion dollars in quarterly sales for the first time ever, up 37% from a year ago. Profit nearly doubled to 83 million dollars. The data center and networking side alone grew 91% in a single year, and it is now their biggest business at 40% of sales.
- Orders Overflowing
For every dollar of product TTM shipped last quarter, customers ordered about a dollar fifty more. Defense work still brings in 37% of sales with a program backlog above 1.7 billion dollars. Management now expects roughly 4.4 billion dollars in sales for the full year.
- Thin Slices
TTM keeps only about six cents of profit on every dollar of sales, so there is little room for error. Gross margin sits near 21%, meaning most of the money goes right back out to build the product. A slip in factory costs or pricing hits the bottom line fast.
- Buying Spree
TTM is buying two European companies and just lined up a one billion dollar credit line plus a bigger loan to pay for growth. Long term debt is already near 969 million dollars. Deals like this look great on paper, but merging factories across continents is messy and expensive.
